  Logical Additions

Sandy_Banerjee

Sandy Banerjee recently joined Logic as Project Manager. Sandy worked with IBM for seven years, where she gained expertise in both technical and management areas.

Sandy grew up in Kolkata, India and where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from one of the top Engineering Colleges in India. She completed her MBA from the University of Michigan, and she spends her free time with her toddler and watching college football (she is a Wolverine, after all!).

Showcase in Less than a Minute

You've been thinking about how great it would be to put your catalog and sales materials on an iPad, right? You want to make it easier for your reps to close their sales.

The decision to go mobile can be a daunting one, and we’ve seen more than one sales team talk themselves out of it because they weren’t able to get a good grasp on the benefits and functionality of mobile catalog products.

So, we’ve made it easier to figure out.  Click on the video image at the right, or watch here to see in less than one minute if Showcase might fit your needs.

  SDS Authoring and Generation

QsdsSafety Data Sheets (SDS) are widely used by organizations to present and catalog information on chemicals, their compounds and mixtures.  SDS contain information in sixteen sections (Materials Information, Materials Components, Handling Procedures, Regulatory Requirements, etc.) and are typically lengthy documents. Within a single organization, SDS generation and authoring may affect multiple departments, including R&D, Sales and Marketing, and Production and Manufacturing.

OSHA has adopted the GHS SDS Standard, and by 2015 all SDS documents and labels must conform to GHS standard.

You may be surprised to find out that many companies still handle the large wealth of information necessary to create an SDS, and the data that tracks relationships to each sheet, with basic tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel.  Due to the increasing complexity of our global regulations matrix, such practices are resulting in serious overextension of resources.

Quantum Compliance’s SDS Authoring and Generation software provides an easy-to-use (and easy to deploy and integrate) solution that dramatically reduces the time and effort required to produce SDS.  In addition, our technology also provides unique benefits such as:

  • Protection of trade secrets
  • Automatic flagging and documentation of first shipments
  • Archived data and history tracking

Please contact us if you would like to learn more about SDS Authoring and Generation.

  SpinUtopia Mobile App

m_spintopia2SpinUtopia is an online social networking community dedicated to the fans and producers of Electronic Dance Music (EDM).

SpinUtopia's need for a dynamic mobile app to connect EDM fans and artists, and to support multi-media sharing and engagement, made Logic a natural development partner. Instead of the vast, segregated array of current EDM-related digital media, SpinUtopia is a single, one-stop shop for the entire EDM community and industry.

The SpinUtopia mobile app allows users to search for local or international events and view real-time event media as it is captured by fans. If a user is present at an event, he or she can also be part of the collective media experience by sharing photos, videos, and comments about a performance with their SpinUtopia network.

One of the fastest-growing musical genres and phenomena in decades, EDM's ecstatic growth continues to be fueled by lively self-expression and digital interconnectivity. In fact, Detroit is a renowned laboratory in EDM's development, which has exploded from its underground roots into the present popular culture.

SpinUtopia is available for free on the App Store.

  Tying the Knot

It's very lucky to have a baby during the Year of the Dragon, but this year we have seen many Logic weddings (first comes love, then comes marriage...).  Shi Chen (now residing in Chengdu) and Leo Shi from our Ann Arbor offices were among those celebrating nuptials in the first half of 2012.

Shi married Zhenning Zhang on April 27, one day before her commencement from the University of Michigan School of Information.  In fact, she skipped the ceremony for her second Master's degree so she could fly home and say, "I do!"

Leo Shi and Xin Lu wed on May 20, in Ann Arbor.  Their reception included a game that involved the bride and groom answering questions about one another on iPads, with their responses projected on a screen as guests watched.

Congratulations to Leo, Shi, and all the Logic staff who have tied the knot so far this year!
