Jimmy Hsiao Gives Global Market Seminar in Taipei, Taiwan Symposium promoted and moderated by the financial magazine Today.
Jimmy Hsiao, Logic Solution’s CEO, was a key speaker at the Taiwanese Automotive Suppliers Conference on December 7. The talk, “How to Work in a Global Market,” was delivered entirely in Chinese.
| Highlights of the presentation include: |
The pressure for U.S. automotive suppliers to reduce costs is an opportunity for Taiwan auto parts and components factories. |
Business barriers to global sourcing for both international auto manufacturers and Taiwan suppliers include the physical distance to the client, cultural differences, the lack of long-term relationships, fast changes in procurement, and the difficulty of knowing who is the decision-maker. |
To overcome these barriers, suppliers in Taiwan need to engage in “relationship investment” to attract and keep U. S. business. Strategies suggested are to supervise supply chain quality and to set up US offices. |
Taiwan suppliers may enter U.S. market by using agencies, consultants, partnerships, or acquiring and purchasing U. S. auto parts and components factories. |
Other strategies to open the sales channel to U.S. market are partnering with U.S. companies, joint ventures to create new companies, or creating joint venture factories in Asia |
| The symposium was co-sponsored by the following organizations in Taiwan: |
Bureau of Foreign Trade Ministry of Economic Affairs |
Corporate Synergy Development (CSD) – non-profit organization to promote supply chain management in Taiwan’s automotive |
Automotive Testing and Research Center (ARTC) |
