CLIENT BACKGROUND
Pediatric dietitians are an integral part of patient care by monitoring, assessing, and optimizing a patient’s nutrition status based on their current medical condition. Hospital patients with compromised nutrition tend to have slower healing and recovery processes, and even possible extended hospital stays. PediatricRD is a smartphone app that assists pediatric clinicians and dietitians in making informed decisions about nutrition care.

THE SOLUTION
Logic Solutions helped the University of Michigan Health Systems design the Pediatric Registered Dietitian mobile app called PediatricRD. The app supplements a dietitian’s knowledge with readily available references, can aid physicians when a dietitian is not readily available, and acts as a consistent nutrition reference for dietitians to standardize care throughout a health system. The app provides information on
- anthropometric measurements
- growth charts
- predictive equations
- formula information for infant, pediatric, and milk/milk substitutes
- guidelines for diagnosing malnutrition
This successful app is currently being used at University of Michigan’s Mott’s Hospital and has been sold to pediatricians in hospitals all over the country. It is also available on the App Store.
