Thank you, Global Detroit.
It is an incredible honor to accept this award. I came to the United States in 1980 as an immigrant from the Dominican Republic, a country which I’d immigrated to one and half years before from Taiwan. Each time I migrated, I was supported and made to feel at home by a community of kindhearted and thoughtful people. It is because of these people that I ultimately graduated from Michigan, got married, got a job, started a family, and, 26 years ago, founded my own business, Logic Solutions. Since founding Logic, it has been one of the greatest adventures of my life to staff amazing individuals in the next generation of immigrants and international students, working together to build high-quality software products and services. I want to thank my family, for supporting me through this adventure. I want to thank my clients, who continue to appreciate our work. I want to thank my colleagues, who share my belief in hiring and retaining incredible talent, regardless of country of origin. I want to thank organizations such as Global Detroit, who bridge the needs of employers and immigrants. And most of all, I want to thank my fellow immigrants, whose hard work contributes to the vibrancy of this great country. It just takes one person to change another’s life forever. Thank you!
