Our Kind of Town: Logic Opens Chicago Office

We’re happy to announce that we recently expanded to better serve our Chicago-area clients.

In fact, Peter and Cammy have just moved into office space in the beautiful Aon Center in the Loop. You’ll see below that Jimmy and Mike frequently travel to our Chicago office, and we expect other staffers will become very familiar with the Amtrak ride.

We’re excited about all the opportunities there are in this market, and would love to meet you for coffee or lunch if you’re in the area–just give us a call!

Showcase Rollout

May was a busy month for our mobile sales system. The highly anticipated Showcase version 0.9 was released with several enhancements such as a redesign of the order module to offer users a smoother and faster experience. It was so well received, that we are proud to introduce Seco ToolsEconomy Paper & Restaurant Supply Co. , and MHM to the Showcase family.

Seco Tools is utilizing the Sales Library portion of Showcase to organize, distribute, and educate their sales team. Economy Paper & Restaurant Supply Co. and MHM are using the full array of features offered through Showcase to streamline their sales processes.

Logical Additions

We have added two uh-maize-ing summer interns from the University of Michigan.

palisePalise Fan works joins the team as a Technical Intern for the summer. She originally hails from China and has spent some of her youthful years in Canada where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree at the University of British Columbia. Her undergraduate degree is in Marketing and Psychology. She is currently a Master of Science student specializing in Human Computer Interaction at the University of Michigan.

She loves to travel, sing, dance (belly and jazz), and make arts and crafts. She also enjoys meeting people, learning, and trying out new things!

jeff_smallJeffrey Pan joins Logic as a Technical Intern, assisting both the Tech Leads and System Admins. He has grown up in Ann Arbor and continues to reside here as a student at the University of Michigan studying Computer Science and Mathematics. He is excited to learn from the team and to contribute to Logic’s success.

From a young age, Jeffrey has played the cello and piano (although more as a hobby than a competitive endeavor after starting college). He enjoys solving puzzles and playing card games, but in the last few years, he has dedicated much of his free time to practicing and performing the Chinese Yo-Yo.

Flat Design Roars to the Forefront in Mobile Technology

tecumseh_114We recently updated Tecumseh’s ESP Guidebook app to include a brand new module.

The new “Cross Reference” module provides users with a searchable cross-reference database of competitors’ parts and a new barcode scanner utilizing the smartphone’s built-in camera.

The barcode scanner reads a compressor’s bar code and instantly displays the target part’s information.

Download the app from the Apple App Store.

High Demand for Software Developers on Michigan

Michigan companies are hurting for good developers.

It’s a fact, not a ploy — almost 40% of Michigan job openings are for software developers. That’s 13,708 available positions in Michigan.

To help solve this unprecedented hiring challenge, Logic provides managed application development services. If you have an application development need, our web and mobile application specialists can function as an extension of your in-house team and capabilities.

What’s Up With Jimmy?

My wife has been impressed by the fact that I have not left the country for almost two months now. But really, my travel has not stopped…it has just been mostly in the U.S. Here are some stories from the (domestic) road:

New Office in Chicago

I have taken three trips to Chicago recently, and I enjoyed the windy city very much without the wind. Logic is setting up a new office in Chicago (at the Aon Center on Randolph).

With the recent released enhancements of Logic’s applications including Showcase, Quantum’s SDS module, and others, we are hoping to attract the Chicago market to our products.
